The Cougars dropped a tough one to Knightstown on Thursday night, falling 5-3 in a game they led most of the way. GC jumped out early and carried a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth before Knightstown plated four runs to flip the game. Brady Martin was strong on the mound, going 5.1 innings with seven strikeouts and only one earned run allowed. Kasen Jarnecke paced the offense with two hits and two RBIs, and Gage Handlon scored twice while stealing two bases. Cooper Safford and Jacob Welch each added doubles. The Cougars out-hit Knightstown 7 to 5 but couldn't get the final outs they needed to close it out.
