The Girls Tennis team defeated Frankton 3-2 on a rainy and windy evening Thursday night. The weather created some challenging moments throughout the match, but the Cougars stayed focused and battled through the conditions to earn the win. No. 2 doubles duo Chloe Kiser and Anna McQueeney earned the first point for the Cougars. After battling to a close 6-4 first-set win, the pair dominated the second set 6-0. No. 1 singles player Kate Gilkison was next off the court with an impressive 6-1, 6-1 victory. The deciding point came from the No. 1 doubles team of Lauren Page and Lucy Stewart. The pair opened strong with a 6-1 first set before Frankton rallied to take a 5-4 lead in the second set. Page and Stewart regrouped and won the final three games to secure a 7-5 second-set victory and clinch the match for the Cougars. The JV team also had a successful evening, defeating Frankton 4-2.
