GC Tennis earned a 3-2 conference win over New Castle in a match that went back and forth throughout. At 2s Chaille Frye battled hard against a tough opponent before falling 3,0. GC answered with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles from Anna McQueeney and Chloe Kiser, then took the lead behind Kate Gilkison’s straight-set victory at No. 1 singles(1,4). At No. 1 doubles, Lauren Page and Lucy Stewart fell behind early, dropping the first set and trailing 1-4 in the second. They rallied to win the second set 7-5 and force a third, but came up just short, losing 3-6. With the match tied, Audrey Marcum delivered under pressure at No. 3 singles, battling through three sets to win 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 and clinch a thrilling conference victory for GC.
