The Greenfield-Central Junior Varsity golf team faced a tough road test this week, traveling to Morningstar Golf Course for a dual match against a disciplined New Palestine squad. While the Cougars displayed flashes of brilliance and grit, they ultimately fell short, finishing with a team total of 189 to the Dragons' 171. Despite the scoreboard favoring the rivals, the afternoon was defined by individual growth and a standout performance from the top of the Greenfield lineup. The headline of the day for Greenfield-Central was the play of Danny Wooten-Brown. Navigating the undulating greens and strategic hazards of Morningstar, Wooten-Brown carded an impressive 40. His roundearned him the low score for the Cougars. Scoring a 40 in a competitive match environment highlights Danny’s ability to remain composed under pressure, providing the team with a reliable anchor as they continue their season.
