By Aaron Smith | Apr 29, 2026 7:21 AM

After a delay due to storms, the Carmel 3200 Showcase on Friday night turned into both a beautiful and productive evening for the Cougars. Otto Sickels started off the night as the first of four Cougars to break 10 minutes in the 2 mile. Sickels ran 9:58.11 which was a 7 second PR after a 17 second PR on Monday to qualify for the meet. Sickels finished 10th in his heat and 127th overall. David Wasson was next running 9:56.60 which was a 12 second PR. Wasson finished 12th in his heat and 118th overall. Braylon Mumaugh was the next Cougar to compete. Mumaugh had not run a 3200 in 2 years due to missing almost the entirety of his sophomore season. Mumaugh ran 9:32.47 which was a 27 second PR. Mumaugh finished 10th in his heat and 45th overall. Bryce Cotterman finished the night for the Cougars. After getting boxed in in what was probably the slowest first lap of the night, Cotterman was able to work his way to the front to push the pace for 5 or 6 laps. Cotterman finished in a time of 9:27.79 which was a 9 second PR. He finished 11th in his heat and 35th overall.
