The lady cougars got a win in their 1st conference game of the year 10-6 over the Delta Eagles. The cougars got 1 in the 1st as Kristen Wineinger reached on an error stole 2nd and advanced to 3rd on a ground out. Charlotte Riehle singled to score Wineinger. The game would remain 1-0 until the 6th the cougars would score 4 times Millie Aldridge started the inning with a single to right, followed by a single by Wineinger, Savvanna Riall singled to center scoring Aldridge. Charlotte Riehle drew a walk to load the bases Chesney Herbst walk scoring Wineinger, Abby Capen singled to drive in courtesy runner Sam Campbell Capen advanced to 2nd on the throw and Riall scored to make it 5-0. The cougars would add 1 more in the 7th. In the bottom half of the 7th Delta would plate 6 runs aided by a throwing error to tie it at 6. The game would remain tied at 6 until the top of the 9th inning, Aldridge and Wineinger would start the inning with singles Tovaria Smith would double to center scoring Aldridge and Wineinger, Smith would advance to 3rd on a ground out by Riall and Riehle would drive her in with a sac fly to left, Chesney Herbst singled to right and advanced to second on an error Abby Capen singled to left to score Herbst for a 10-6 lead The cougars finished with 10 runs on 18 hits. Ailea Dowdy got the win going 8.2 innings giving up 5 hits 3 earned runs striking out 2 Addi Heacox went .1 of an inning giving up 3 unearned runs on 4 hits. The cougars will be back on the road to face Yorktown on Wednesday night.
