Women's Track and Field Win Pendleton Heights Invitational

On Saturday, the Greenfield-Central girls track and field team used contributions from every event area to capture the championship at the Pendleton Heights Invitational, showcasing the depth and balance that has become a strength of the Cougar program this season. One of the biggest highlights of the day came in the pole vault, where Greenfield-Central scored valuable points with Aspen Wiswell placing third at 8 feet, 0 inches and Zoey Bauer finishing fifth at a personal-best clearance of 8 feet, 0 inches. Bauer’s breakthrough performance provided a major spark for the Cougars and underscored the team-wide improvement that helped power the meet victory. The Cougars also received key points on the track. Josie Kinnaman claimed the 3200 meter title in 11:36.06, while Kendall Barrett added a third-place finish in the same event. In the 800 meters, Alexis Kerkhof placed second in 2:31.84 and Addison Gordon added a sixth-place finish. Adalyn Cole continued the distance scoring with a third-place finish in the 1600, while Ashlyn Devlin added another strong performance by breaking six minutes for the first time this season with a 5:59.19 effort. Greenfield-Central’s relay teams also played an important role in the championship effort. The 4x800 relay team of Harper Rahe, Kamryn Smith, Taylor Cooksey, and Adalyn Cole placed second in 10:51.50. The 4x400 relay team of Camilla Aldridge, Cerenity Minchin, Taylor Cooksey, and Alexis Kerkhof finished fifth, while the 4x100 squad of Hailey Fegal, Adyson Campbell, Isabella McCullough, and Camilla Aldridge added points with a sixth-place finish. In the field events, Jaidynn Vermilyer earned an individual title in the high jump with a clearance of 4 feet, 9 inches. The throwing group also delivered key points, led by Hadley Hill’s runner-up finish in the discus and fifth-place effort in the shot put. Evelyn Schini added a third-place finish in the discus and seventh in the shot put. Brooklyn Emmerling paced the hurdles crew with fourth-place finishes in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, while Eloise Winkler and Cerenity Minchin added more scoring depth. From distance races to relays, hurdles, jumps, and throws, the Cougars relied on a true team effort to secure the Pendleton Heights Invitational championship.
