GC Varsity Baseball put on an offensive showcase Tuesday night, rolling past Delta 12-1 to move to 3-0 in conference play and 6-3 on the season. Gavin Markus was absolutely dealing on the mound, throwing 6 innings of near-perfect baseball, allowing just 3 hits, 0 earned runs and striking out 9 to earn the win. The Cougars came out swinging in a big way. Hayden Kidd had a monster night at the plate, launching two home runs and driving in 5 runs. Hayden Zellers and Cooper Safford both hit their first career high school home runs, with Zellers also adding a triple and 3 RBIs and Safford finishing 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs as well. Henry Close went 2-for-4, scored 3 runs and added an RBI. Jack Herrin contributed a double and Gage Handlon also added a hit in the win. The Cougars scored 5 in the first and 4 in the second, putting the game away early and never looking back.
