The lady cougars take down 4A #6 ranked Franklin Central 13-3 in 5 innings. Our cougars came out swinging scoring 4 in the 1st inning Kristen Wineinger started it off with a triple followed by a 2-run homer by Tovaria Smith. Savvanna Riall drew a walk, Abby Capen singled, Sam Campbell running for Capen stole 2nd and Chesney Herbst hit a line drive single to right to score Riall and Campbell. The cougars would score 1 in the 2nd on a Kristen Wineinger home run to left making it 5-0. The 3rd inning the cougars would push across 7 runs the big hits in the inning, Charlotte Riehle with a bases loaded double scoring 3, Avery Daniels single to center scoring 2 more for a 12 -0 lead. Franklin Central scored 3 times in the 4th making it 12-3. In the bottom of the 5th Wineinger doubled to score the game winner the double gave Wineinger a cycle for the game. Ailea Dowdy got the win with a strong outing in the circle allowing 3 run none earned with 3 strike outs, Addi Heacox pitched 2 innings in relief striking out 5. The lady cougars had 13 runs, 12 hits and stole 4 bases giving them 29 for the season. The lady cougars are on the road Friday night at 6pm at Madison Grant.
