FINAL: Greenfield-Central 71, Anderson 52 The Cougars delivered one of their most complete performances of the season Friday night, defeating Anderson 71–52 in the Sectional Semifinal to advance to the Sectional Championship game. Offensively, Greenfield-Central was extremely efficient from start to finish. The Cougars shot 51% from the field, converting quality looks throughout the night while stretching the defense with strong perimeter shooting. GC also attacked the rim consistently and got to the free-throw line at a high rate, converting those opportunities to help fuel the 71-point output. Clay Mullins led the way with 22 points, including a scorching 71% from three-point range. Blake Evans added 15 points, while Isaiah Humes delivered an incredibly efficient night with 14 points, shooting a perfect 100% from two, three, and the free-throw line. Defensively, the Cougars controlled the game. Greenfield-Central held Anderson to poor shooting from the floor and from beyond the arc, making every possession difficult. The Cougars also dominated the glass, limiting second-chance opportunities and turning defensive stops into offensive momentum. While GC didn’t force many turnovers and had some ball-security issues themselves, their rebounding and shot defense consistently kept Anderson from building runs. With the win, the Cougars advance to the Sectional Championship, where they will face Mt. Vernon with a title on the line. One more.
