The Fall Creek Pavilion was the site of a historic performance for the Greenfield-Central Women’s Track and Field team as the Cougars shattered the indoor school record in the 4,000-meter Distance Medley Relay (DMR). The relay team of Josie Kinnaman (1200m), Lexi Kerkhof (400m), Adalyn Cole (800m), and Mia Brinkruff (1600m) combined for an outstanding time of 12:28.59, breaking the previous school record of 13:41 by more than a minute. The record-setting performance highlighted a strong start to the indoor season and showcased the depth of Greenfield-Central’s distance and middle-distance group. Each leg contributed to the historic run, with Kinnaman setting the tone in the opening 1200 meters before Kerkhof carried the momentum through the 400. Cole delivered a strong 800-meter leg to keep the Cougars in position, and Brinkruff closed the race with a powerful 1600-meter anchor to seal the record-breaking performance. The mark of 12:28.59 now stands as the fastest DMR in school history and currently ranks the GC relay team #3 in the state as they gear up for the Indoor State Championship on March 28th.
