Greenfield Central Varsity Girls Basketball vs New Castle

By Ken Howell | Jan 16, 2026 10:26 PM

The Lady Cougars hosted New Castle in a Varsity Girls and Boys Doubleheader. The Lady Cougars had a poor shooting night and made too many unforced turnover on the night which led to a 46-37 loss to the Trojans. The only player for the Cougars in double figures was their lone senior Juliann Jones with 10 points. The Cougars will be back in the gym tomorrow and Monday morning to refocus and put in the work to prepare for the final push of the season. They have five more regular season games left, along with participation in the Pendleton Heights IHSAA Section on February 4th, 6th, and 7th. The Lady Cougars will be back in action next week on the road at Muncie Central with a Varsity Only 6:00 game. This will be followed with home games on Friday and Saturday against Mt. Vernon and Indianapolis Shortridge. The two games on the 23rd and 24th will be the last to times to watch the Cougars play at home this year. We all hope you can come out a catch a game. One of the special moments on the night was the Girls and Boys Basketball programs Teacher Appreciation Night. During the program 35 outstanding educators at Greenfield Central Community Schools were recognized for their hardwork and the positive impact they have on the countless students they interact with each and every day. Everyone associated with both programs want to send out a huge Thank You. All of you are appreciated!
