3rd Quarter Push not enough to get past top ranked Marauders

FINAL: Mt. Vernon 62, Greenfield-Central 51 The Cougars battled toe-to-toe with top-5 ranked Mt. Vernon, but ultimately fell 62–51 after a hard-fought contest. Greenfield-Central made a strong push in the third quarter to erase the deficit and tie the game heading into the fourth, showing toughness and resilience against one of the state’s elite programs. Clay Mullins led all scorers with an outstanding 27-point performance, attacking from all three levels and keeping the Cougars within striking distance throughout the night. Greenfield-Central now returns home this Friday and Saturday for a pair of matchups against New Castle and Eastern Hancock.
