The Lady Cougars JV battled the Golden Bears of Shelbyville in a tight, back-and-forth game. In the end the Cougars were able to walk away with the victory 35-33. After a 1st quarter that ended tied 9 all, the Cougars entered halftime with a 2 point lead behind the solid play of Abbey Malet and Brooklyn Study. The 3rd quarter saw the Golden Bears take the lead 27-26. However, the Cougars outscored their opponent by 3 points to secure the victory. During the crucial 4th quarters, the Cougars got some big buckets from Renasia Walker, Ashtyn Sonsini, and Char Sible. On the night the Cougars were led in scoring by Abbey Malet with 11 points in two quarters of action. Melia Cartwright led Shelbyville with 13 points. The JV will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Delaware County to challenge the Eagles at Delta High School.
