The Lady Cougars Varsity battled the Golden Bears from Shelbyville at home tonight. The Cougars played their best and most complete game of the year on their way to a convincing 60 - 45 victory. The Golden Bears jumped on the Cougars early and led 7-1 to force an early time-out by Coach Key. When play resumed the Cougars went on a 22-5 run and never looked back. The victory saw the Cougars use consistent scoring in the game where they scored 15 points in each quarter. In addition, they used a great team effort on their way to the win. All nine players who played in the game contributed in a positive way. The Cougars were led in scoring by senior Juliann Jones who had her best game of the year in scoring 18 points. Closely behind her was junior Izzy Silcox who continued her excellent play with 17 points. Sophomore Jayla Ash led the Golden Bears with 22 points. The Cougars are back in action on Saturday, December 20th when they travel to Delta High School to take on the Eagles.
