The Lady Cougars Basketball team opened their season tonight as they traveled to Lapel for a varsity only game. Unfortunately, the Cougars ended up on the wrong end of a 61 - 38 score. The Cougars trailed by 2 points after the first quarter and only by 7 at half. With 0:50 seconds left in the 3rd quarter the Cougars were down by 8, however the Bulldogs ended the quarter with a 5 -0 run to push their lead to 13. The 4th quarter saw the Bulldogs outscore the Cougars by 10 points, which pushed their lead to 23. The Cougars were led in scoring by junior Izzy Silcox with 16 and sophomore McKenzie Lisenby with 10. The Bulldogs were led by Indiana All-Star Candidate and Butler commit Laniah Wills who had a great all-around game, which included 46 points.
