New Castle, IN (September 12, 2019) – Greenfield Central Volleyball suffered their fourth loss of the season tonight against New Castle High School.

The Cougars had a slow start to the match but gained momentum towards the end of the first set but could not carry it over into set two. Junior outside hitter Makayla Price led the way with 11 kills but Ava Antic was close behind with 8.

“The team came out playing very nervous against a very strong New Castle team,” said Coach Ron Heck. “Once we called a timeout in the first set, the girls calmed down a little bit and played with more focus. The past few matches, we have had a bad habit of starting the match slow and having to work extremely hard to get over out slow starts. We’re hoping to change the rut and get our defense in a rhythm to allow our setters to run our offense.”

The Cougars are back in action at Mt. Vernon High School on Tuesday September 17.
