Greenfield, IN (September 19, 2019) – Greenfield Central High School’s Varsity Volleyball program beat Hoosier Heritage Conference rival Shelbyville High School, in a four set thriller.

The match started off rocky for the Cougars resulting in the loss of set one but they were able to turn it around and take sets two, three, and four. Junior outside hitters, Ava Antic and Makayla Price combined for 22 kills. Brooke Herrell finished the night with 9. Middle Hitter, Kenley Carpenter finished with 7 kills. Marissa Grigsby accounted for 17 digs.

“I am extremely proud of how the girls came together and played after starting the first set very slowly,” said first year Coach Ron Heck. “Serve receive was our weakness at many points of the match, our setters really only had the option to set our pin hitters and not get our middles involved as much as we would like. I am really looking forward to our Saturday matches against Cathedral and Noblesville.”

The Cougars are back at home on Saturday morning against Cathedral High School and Noblesville High School. First serve for both JV and Varsity is at 9:30am.
