In all honesty the second game played out a lot like the first game with the Lady Cougars leaving 12 runners on base but strong defense and strong pitching and few clutch hits provided them with the first softball team located in Greenfield Indiana to reach 10 wins this year. (wait are there other softball teams from Greenfield Indiana???) For the mound it was none other than Da da da da Macy “Snoop” Fultz gettting the complete game win only allowing 6 hits with 3 strikeouts. Thankfully Macy only took about 70 pitches to finish the game, where as the Hornets pitchers threw close to 140 pitches in the game, otherwise we would still be there. On defense Mallory “Dr Dre” Fultz at SS provided some nifty defense with a double play that she scooped to Emily Francis at 2nd and on to first. She also made a big play at second when the Hornets were on verge of coming back when she tagged the runner at second who took her foot off base for only a moment. (She is called Dre because what good would Snoop be without Dre). With the Hornets down 1-4 going in bottom of 7th catches from Bradley and Alexi Rankin secured first two outs before the Hornets managed to get 3 hits in a row and 1 run. With the nerves of steel and you already know what is coming Macy “Snoop” Fultz on mound and assuring her teams to “Chillz I gotz dis” she forced a ground ball to Macy “Terminator” Francis who back handed it and tagged first terminating the chance for a come back from the Hornets. Cougars improve to 10-1 and conference play begins Monday vs Delta at home. Offensively for Cougars Kensie “BB” Bradley 3-5 with 2 runs and Sam “Da Bulldog” Kihega 1-2 with 2 BB and RBI double, and Mallory “Dre” Fultz 2-4 with 2 runs
