The Greenfield-Central football team was in action on Friday August 10th.
The theme of the year so far for the Cougars has been youth, and it showed. The youthful Cougars opened in disappointing fashion, 42-0 to the Evansville Central Bears.
The Cougars offense had new starters at every position from the end of the season last year. One of the highlights on Offense was the poise and courage of Freshman starter at quarterback, Gehrig Slunaker.
The defense was highlighted by a 18 tackle performance by Sophmore Defensive End Turk Faitele. Second in tackles was Junior LB Tyler Antic with 16. Tyler learned he was starting on Thursday after the Cougars learned they would be without the services of Senior Linebacker Grant Hinton and Senior DE/LB Noah Evanoff.
The Cougars look to bounce back this week. They will be on the road to face the Whiteland Warriors at 7:00 on August 14.
