With only two throwers and distance runners, the jv track team was able to beat New Pal’s jv team by 4 points. The highlight of the night was the high jump. Freshman distance runner, Elliot Ryba, was 1st with a jump of 5’8″, jumping 8″ higher than second place in his first time ever high jumping! The Cougars swept the 3200 with Matt Wickham in 1st with a time of 11:08, Adam Bright 2nd (11:18), and Morgan Flanagan 3rd (11:43). In the discus, the Cougars were 1st and 2nd with Wyatt Carlson throwing 76’2″ followed by Cole Maroska throwing 71’7″. The throwing duo was also 2nd and 3rd in the shot put with Maroska throwing 36’6″ and Carlson throwing 27’8″. Carter Crouch won the 800 in 2:19. Crouch also had the fastest 1600 time (5:09), but a coaching decision in an attempt to give him more competition caused him to finish 3rd, one second behind teammate Tanner Burelison (5:28) who was 2nd. The Cougars also won two of the three relays. The 4×8 team of Wickham, Gage Guenin, Flanagan, and Bright won in 9:28. In their 4×100 debut, the distance team of Masan Kojima, Jacob Presser, Lucas Tutrow, and Wickham won in 48.99.
