Greenfield-Central advanced to the Shelbyville Semi-State next week by finishing third in the Rushville Regional. The Cougars had two All-Regional runners (top 20) with Matt Wickham outsprinting Griffen Wheeler for the pair to finish 7th and 8th (17:01.3 to 17:01.5). Griffen Wheeler becomes the 9th fastest sophomore in school history. The rest of the scoring Cougars were the next three spots outside of All Regional. Liam Brinkruff was 21st (17:15). Austin Nigh was 22nd (17:25). Luke Muckerheide was 23rd (17:28). Chris Ross was 39th (18:00), and Gage Guenin was 59th (18:38).
