Game Recap

A well played game by both team and a beautiful night for the beautiful game. Greenfield Varsity won 2-0 and JV won 3-2. We were applying pressure at several points throughout the Varsity game but weren’t able to find the back of the net until the second half. New Pals defense was good and their goalkeeper made some big first half saves to keep us scoreless. Our first goal came from a PK that was earned on a hand ball in the box in the 56th minute of the game. The second goal came in the 62nd minute of play with a great assist from Jake Robertson to Caleb Mundell who scored by knocking it in off the far post. Good job by our defense that recorded the shutout tonight.

GC Goal: Cole Pierce Assist: Unassisted (PK)

GC Goal: Caleb Mundell Assist: Jake Robertson

Big thanks to the big crowd tonight who came out for our Drug Free Night. It was great to see 100+ students pledge to be drug free. The crowd was big and they were very supportive and the players respond well to that type of crowd. Also a big thanks to the ball boys from our communities local soccer program, USF Real Soccer Club, who were there tonight to help keep the play going throughout the varsity match. For you loyal fans out there, our next home game is not until September 20th against Yorktown. The Boys Soccer teams are on the road on Saturday against Baitesville and on the road again on Monday against Shelbyville.
