Meet Recap

The Cougars played a great match Tuesday night against Batesville. Going into the match the Cougars new it was going to be close, but they stepped up when it mattered and came away with a win. The night started with Batesville taking 2 points from both doubles teams, leaving the pressure on the Cougars 3 singles players. Both 2 singles Mason Bussel and 3 singles Bradley McDowell found themselves down 1-4 in the first set, giving Batesville a good chance to finish the match. The Cougars showed their ability to rally though, as both Bussel and McDowell rallied back strong to win their first sets. McDowell then found himself up 4-0 in the second set when his opponent had to withdrawal with an elbow injury, giving the Cougars their first point. The next point would come from Senior Kole Willis who won in a third set tie break 10-3. With the match now tied 2-2, the pressure was on 2 singles Mason Bussel. Bussel was able to stay a game up throughout the third set and win two clutch games at the end of the match to get a great victory for himself and the team. The JV team lost 1-4. 1 singles Kane Bradley got the win for the JV team. The Cougars play Yorktown at home tomorrow.
