Game Recap

Scoring opened in the second minute of the match with a finish from Braiden Sticka. Though technically unassisted, the goal came off a series of four two-touch passes that carried the ball from the back line to the top of the 18. The final pass was a slotted ball from Enrique Ferrara. The defender was first to the ball, but his clearance went off of Sticka leading to a shot with just the keeper to beat.

The second goal of the match came in the 16th minute of the second half. Enrique Ferrara extended the lead with a take away at the top of the 18 and a clinical finish. Ferrara’s second of the night came eight minutes later after a string of passes in the defensive and middle thirds found Brandon Murphy’s feet and terrific ball to a wide Ferrara ensued. Passing the ball in the net and beating the keeper near post, Ferrara put together his first multi-goal game of the season.

The Cougars out shot the Trojans 21-3. Elijah Diehr finished the game with 3 saves, and the Cougar defense recorded their first shutout of the season.

Final stats:
Braiden Sticka: 1 Goal
